Benefit Concert for Katrina

To everyone who came out to our benefit concert on Sunday, THANK YOU!!!! It was truly an amazing time. I think this was possibly the most emotional show that we as Kutless have ever performed.

God definitely did some really neat things throughout the evening. It was incredible to be back in our home town and to see so many recognizable faces. There were many friends and family members at the show as well as long time fans who have been supporting us even before we were a signed band. That was really special for us, but also the crowd response as a whole was simply amazing.

The energy in the room was electric and it was such a privilege to be there on the behalf of people who are hurting. Although it was a Kutless show, everything that happened that night was not about us. We were there for the single purpose, to make a difference in peoples lives, and I believe that was accomplished in more ways than we even imagined.

Not only were we able to raise thousands of dollars to benefit the victims of hurricane Katrina, but I know that many of the people in the audience left that evening being deeply touched as well. It was all we had hoped for and then some. The show sold out and we crammed over 2500 people into Rolling HIlls Church. Everything went smoothly except for a brief fire alarm issue resulting from the fog machines billowing from the stage.

When all was said and done, we had raised nearly $45,000 and 100% of that money went directly to Convoy of Hope to benefit the victims of hurricane Katrina. According to them the money we raised is equivalent to 7.5 semi trucks fully loaded with supplies! It is amazing to me that we were able to accomplish so much in such a short amount of time.
