Tommy Czeschin Rides High

Tommy Czeschin Rides High For a guy that has accomplished all that he has in professional snowboarding, Tommy Czeschin is still a really humble guy. Even though he’s notorious for his insane maneuvers in the pipe, Czeschin is known as a pretty level-headed guy when he’s not on a snowboard. Raised in Mammoth Lakes, California, the 26-year-old has been around the sport for a long time.

Growing up, Czeschin rode the local Mammoth and June Mountains and began entering races. By the time he reached 16, he was on the radar as a hot up-and-comer that had knack for speed and a certain affinity for technical tricks. A year later he was named to the U.S. National Team; a position that propelled the young rider into the international spotlight.

At the 2002 Olympics, Czeschin finished in the top six, but many insiders feel it was a controversial decision. Some think that the U.S. rider’s nearly perfect run should have placed him at a higher finishing spot, but despite the toss-up decision, Czeschin remained gracious. Czeschin has says that he feels honored just compete along with the world’s best, showing that his humility is even bigger than his half-pipe skills.

Despite the glamorous lifestyle of pro-snowboarding, Tommy Czeschin knows how to keep his priorities in line. Along with other Christian snowboarders like Jim Rippey, Luke Wynen, and best friend Chris Nelson, Czeschin and company regularly ride and travel together maintaining a fellowship that goes beyond snowboarding. Last Spring the guys embarked on a bus-trip to some of the countries premiere mountains and shared about their personal relationship with the God along the way.

Being one of the top pros in the world isn’t always the easiest job, but with a positive outlook like Czeschin’s, most of the time, it is too hard.
