You probably remember her from the movie, Blue Crush. Sanoe Lake was the girl who did the crazy brave moves on the surf board with the waves crashing down behind her. Her story begins in Kauai, Hawaii in the year 1979. It was a real tough place to grow up…whatever. She got her first surf board at five and became a die hard fan at ten. Now she lives in Los Angeles which is a whole lot worse. Moving on.

Sanoe’s Japanese, Hawaiian and English background isn’t the only unique thing about this professional surfer slash Jet Set model slash actress. Sanoe’s name means, “mist of the mountains.” And her talents are not limited to the waves, but mists into designing, writing and kickboxing. She’s even in the process of writing her first book, Rollout the Blue Carpet. Stay tuned for that!

In the midst of all of the popularity, Sanoe has had opportunity to join the wrong crowd. She did, and it got old quick. That’s when she decided it was time to give God credit for her talents. “Only weak people give into peer pressure,” she commented. “Without God I’d just be a broken guitar, sitting there. With him I’m an instrument that music comes out of.”

In the big canvas of life Sanoe does surfing like art. “It’s such a great form of self expression,” she shared. “God makes me want to be a better person.”
