With two World Longboarding Championships, a flourishing modeling career, an album about to hit stores and a reputation as one of the world’s top surfers, Daize Shayne is a modern renaissance woman of sorts. The Hawaii native rose to surfing stardom in 1999 when she won the World Longboarding Championship in what would be the first stop in her climb to diverse fame.

Since then she has remained a force in women’s professional surfing, winning contests around the world and becoming a mainstay in surf media. Shayne has been featured in major surf publications, videos and even a spot in 2003’s motion picture Step Into Liquid.

It was more than just her natural ability on the surfboard that quickly made Daize Shayne one of the most prominent personalities in women’s professional surfing; beyond being a natural athlete, Shayne is a natural celebrity. Her charismatic personality, striking beauty and outspoken faith has brought her California charm into the mainstream. She’s been featured as a model in countless magazines and has developed into one of the action sports industry’s most recognizable faces with hosting spots on ESPN, Fox Sports and Bluetorch TV.

Recently, Daize Shayne has been using her infectious personality as the driving factor behind her power-pop fueled music. After sending out some early demos, Shayne was invited to play at the Republican National for President Bush and a much larger crowd than she was used to; it was forum that provided the young artist with some serious exposure. With constant radio play and a loyal fan-base, her soulfully upbeat brand of rock is creating a buzz as a fresh signature sound. The full-length album is set to be released this spring and is an anticipated mix with its promise of high-energy guitar work and powerful vocals.
