What's next??

What's next??So, something has changed and you've decided that you really do believe that there is a God and that Jesus is His son, your Savior. But what's next? Here are a few things that might simplify it for you.

• Talk to Him. It doesn’t matter if what you have to say is good or bad, makes sense or is confusing…He wants to hear your thoughts. He already knows what they are, but there is something freeing about being honest with Him.

• Talk to others about Him. Do you have a friend who talks to God too? Discuss Him with your friend. What do they think of who God is and how is He working in their life? Each one of us is like a prism on a crystal. We all reflect different angles of who God really is. You are valuable to Him and there are things He created you to do that no one else can do and others need to experience that.

• There’s a book that has outsold any other book in history and I think you should take a look at it. It’s called the Bible and it’s full of people talking about God, learning about who He is and how much He loves them. It’s the story of God’s actions in human history and the price He was willing to pay so that we would know that He loves us. They say hindsight is 20/20 so take a look at the Bible’s stories and learn from their mistakes and right choices so that you can live a full life.

• Get plugged into a community where you can listen to people talk about God. Take what they teach you and apply it to your life. This journey we are on is all about growth. The end result is great but God is concerned with how you’re living your life today.

• Live it out- You’ve been given the gift of knowing God on this earth and in the life to come, but so many are hurting around you. Take your experiences, questions and hope to those next door. Is there a way you could help your neighbor, give money to someone in need, or be involved with a ministry at your local church? We are confronted everyday with crisis that we have solutions for. We’ve all experienced talk that is cheap, so live out your faith and help those in need in practical ways. You’ll grow, they’ll respect you and God will be pleased.

• Finally, have fun and enjoy being God’s kid. Are you starting to see that it’s all about relationship? The Bible says that He is the God who placed the stars and moon each in their place. And yet, it goes on to say that He is watchful of who we are and He cares for us (Ps.8:3-4). He wants a relationship with us! Maybe you’ve never known anyone that really cared about you unconditionally. Give Him a chance and He will prove Himself to you. He’s been faithful to generations of people since the beginning of time and now His eyes are on you.
