mahalo kids, it's jakers- oye vea (i'm not hawaiian or jewish, sorry for the mis-spellings). so it's been a fun and interesting week! lets bust out the essentials: sunday- i went surfing, no waves! this is o.k., sometimes you just need to get wet. unfortunately i also stepped on and was stung by a sting ray. yeeeaaaaa!!! this was wonderful. i mean aside from my foot feeling like it was falling off and the few cuts i acquired it was great. (note: stepping on sting rays is not fun, nor does it feel great!) so after a day or so it stopped hurting and is now "all better". i love surfing. i am by no means pro, but i really enjoy getting to the nose and cruisin down some lines on my long board. so tuesday this week i go to check the surf, and what happens? i get a ticket from one of our wonderful va. beach police officers. "posted- no unauthorized vehicles beyond this point". this is the sign that is posted to keep cars off our board walk. i drove 20 ft past the sign to check the surf (not touching the boardwalk) and here comes "johnny the chipper law enforcer" who decides to give me a ticket. this makes me sad! i really try hard to keep the law, but no matter how little you stretch it- IT'S STILL BREAKING THE LAW!!! Things I've been learnin.- well for one, police in va. Beach don't know what a warning is. Second, God has really prepared us to serve we really need to be more pro active about it. I was reading in mark chapter 1, and when I got to verse 31 I read about Jesus healing simons mother in-law. It says she was in bed with a fever and he walked to her to her hand and she stood up. Then immediately it says she waited on them. I just thought it was interesting how it doesn't say she took some time to rest, or that jesus even asked her to take a minute and figure out what in the world just happened… she just started serving. Then I thought about all the healing God has done in my life. In all the different areas that I live in, and it made me think, "how has this enabled me to serve for God's sake, and how will I serve in that". Just something to think about.
